This is so that the game does not recognize them. All of them have been renamed, into EP01_, EP02_ and EP03_.
These are EP01 (Get to Work), EP02 (Get together) and EP03 (City Living). If you just want faster PC/game performance while playing The Sims 4, you can go to where the game is installed.
